Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go?
We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us
When are the services?
Our worship services are on Sunday mornings, at 8:30am and 10:10am
What are the services like?
Our services are typically an hour and a half, and they blend the old with the new. You will find our worship to be joyful at times and at times solemn and reflective. You will find solid, biblical preaching with application for your life. You will find new songs led by a band along with more traditional hymns accompanied by the organ. You will also find a time of prayer and communion at each service. You will find our services to be multi-generational. We have everyone from infants, and new families all the way to retired folks.
What should I wear?
Clothes. Seriously, wear what you are comfortable in. There is no dress code at John Knox. If you want to wear a suit or a dress, you won’t be alone. If you want to wear shorts and flip flops, you wont be alone. You are welcome to come as you are.
What about my children?
During the summer, there is nursery and childcare for infants through entering Kingarten in the fall at both the 8:30am and 10:10 service. Visit our Children’s Ministry
or Student Ministry
page for more information.
What do I do before or after the services?
While waiting for the service to start, feel free to have a cup of coffee, tea or hot cocoa from the coffee table. Feel free to look at art exhibit or check out the Welcome Center for more information about John Knox. We think you will find Knox a welcoming place for you and your family, so don’t be surprised if someone introduces themselves to you.
Are you going to ask for my money?
As our guest, we don’t want your money! We do take an offering each week, but that is for our folks. We want you to just be able to enjoy the service.
We would love to answer any additional questions you may have. Feel free to contact us and one of our staff members will get back with you. Also, you may phone the church office at 206-241-1606, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
We hope to see you soon at John Knox Church!
