    What to Expect

So maybe you have heard about John Knox, and you are a little intrigued? Going to a new church for the first tim e can be a little daunting.

What is th e style of worship? Is there a place for my children to worship? How long do the services last? What kinds of small groups do you offer?

Please know we will make every effort to make sure your first experience is as welcoming as possible. After your first visit here, we hope you will already feel as if John Knox Presbyterian is your home church!

    The Atrium

Once you walk through the doors and have been welcomed by our greeters, take a look around the Atrium; our Worship Music and the Arts Team regularly features art exhibits.

We have a Welcome Center staffed our Community Life volunteers to provide you with information about the various ministries, programs and events that John Knox has to offer. The Welcome Center is stocked with suggested reading material by our pastors and staff as well as sermon CDs from our services.

Come a few minutes early and visit our new Love Wins Cafe and have an expresso and a fresh baked pastry. All proceeds contribute to the Student and Family Ministrie's two churches in Belize.

Have little ones? We have a dedicated staff of trained volunteers ready to offer them an enjoyable morning as well. Our Nursery is located in the Fellowship Hall and is open during both services for infants through 2 year olds. Parents of infants will be provided a pager should we need your assistance during the service.

Our Childrens Ministry team provides S.A.M., (Sunday AM classes); age appropriate learning opportunities for kids 3 years through sixth grade that are designed to nurture and deepen relationships with one another and with our loving God. All volunteers in the Nursery and in Children’s Ministry have been properly trained as well as cleared by an extensive nationwide back ground check.

Have older ones? We have a Student Ministries team for Junior and Senior High Students. Every Sunday at 9:00 AM there is a Foundations Class in the Youth Center. We believe that connecting with one another is the best way to live a Christian life.  We strive to make sure that every student is connected regardless of school, race, socioeconomic background or previous faith experience.

     Our Worship Services

Our worship services are at 9:00 and 10:45 AM and are typically an hour and fifteen minutes long.

Our services begin with a time of gathering through song, prayer and the reading of Scripture as we prepare to hear God’s Word to us. Then one of the pastors or another speaker preaches a clear, specific and contemporary Word from God from Scripture that calls us to a shared commitment to live out his purposes for our lives. After the sermon, we come forward to the Lord’s Table to receive elements of bread and grape juice served by our pastors, elders and deacons.  We come forward and receive communion by way of intinction. We end our times of worship with more singing before being sent into the world to live out what we’ve heard and received.

Newborns or young ones fussy? We have a soundproof crying room available at the back of the Worship Center so parents can watch and listen to the service without feeling like they are disturbing others.

    What’s Next?

We ask that you fill out a Welcome Card located in the pews so that we may get to know you better and formally introduce ourselves. You can also stop by our Welcome Center, our volunteers will be happy to answer any questions for you, or you can email us. Feel free to grab a free sermon CD and one of our Newsletters. You can also sign up for our E-News to stay posted!

We look forward to seeing you at John Knox!
