SAM
SAM – Our Sunday AM classes delight, engage, encourage, and mentor children and young people to grow into God’s plan for each of them. Thru story, discussion, art, activities, listening, and sharing, children and young people are encouraged to consider how God moves in their daily lives.
Chapel – The intimacy of the chapel located in the main building of the John Knox Campus provides a wonderful opportunity on Sunday mornings for children to have an introduction into what happens in the main sanctuary/worship center on Sunday mornings. Chapel introduces at age appropriate levels the themes, songs, order of worship, and praise and thanksgiving of God being celebrated across the walkway. Thru the word of God, scripture, the prayers of God – The Lord’s Prayer, giving back to God – tithing, what He has so generously shared with each of us, children are engaged to follow, listen, and understand how God is speaking to each of their hearts.
Preschool Class-This class is for all 3 and 4yr olds and is their first introduction to a more structured class setting. We still have plenty of time to play and do crafts but a good portion of our time is spent learning foundational Bible stories and instilling the deep love that Jesus has for his children.
Kindergarten-As the name implies this is for all children in Kindergarten and some older preschool kids (we're not too legalistic on age) who are more comfortable in this class.
1st grade though 6th grade (9:00 AM only)
While we firmly believe that the primary responsibility for faith formation rests with parents and grandparents, we are very grateful to the dedicated small group leaders who walk alongside these kids each Sunday. They are committed to helping kids discover how God's story and their stories intersect. They aim to incite wonder, provoke discovery and fuel passion for the things of God so that each is able to journey further in becoming a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ. 5 and 6's Class - Room 7 - Downstairs
*Children in grades 1-6 are invited to attend the worship service.
*A Children's bulletin is provided to help enhance and supplement the sermon.
*Another excellent resource for parents is a book by Robbie Castleman, which can be purchased or checked out in the Welcome center. It's called, "Parenting in the Pew - Guiding your children into the joy of worship".
