Important Notice: Change of Venue for World Relief’s Refugee Training Program

Because of the huge response for their Refugee Training Program, World Relief has changed the location to a larger venue:

Where: Bellevue Presbyterian Church, (Room UC-303)
1717 Bellevue Way NE,
Bellevue WA 98004

When: Thursday, September 24 from 6:00pm-8:30pm

What: Hosting, Housing, and Welcoming Refugees in Western Washington

In light of the refugee crisis in the Middle East and John Knox’s history of welcoming and caring for refugees who arrive in America, we have an opportunity to prepare to welcome those who may arrive in the not-too-distant future.

This is a special training for families and individuals who wish to welcome refugees into our communities. We will be focusing on the following topics:

  • How to HOST families for 1-2 weeks
  • How to RENT to refugee families in need of sustainable housing
  • How to WELCOME refugees as Cultural Companions

The training will also discuss who refugees are, where they are coming from and why–as well as World Relief’s mission to empower local churches and communities to respond to the needs of these newcomers. Please RSVP to Scott.
