Dear members and friends of JKPC,

“In this world you will have trouble ~ but take heart, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Do you feel as though your world has turned upside down? We do. So many enjoyable routines have been upended. Gatherings with friends, arts performances, meals away from home, and worshiping with all of you on Sunday morning ~ abruptly halted.

As a community we are doing the right thing. Not simply because officials asked us to do so, but because of love. As each of us reorients our lives let us remember that we do so out of love and concern for friends and neighbors.

For the foreseeable future, we will be worshiping together as a community online. A talented team of artists, technicians, and worship leaders are working diligently to bring you the best possible worship experience.  Pastors and congregations from Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shoreline and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Enumclaw are also joining us for online worship.  Here is a link for Sunday March 15th live stream worship service at 10:30 am.

Online learning opportunities for all ages are expanding. Video lectures, local resources, and downloadable articles are just some of what’s available on the Knox social media site called Realm.  If you’re not yet on Realm, please subscribe. You’ll be glad you did! To join Realm, click here.

Watch this video to learn more about observing communion in homes, and upcoming programs and events including plans to welcome Sr. Pastor Candidate Jimmy McPherson on Sunday March 29th in online worship followed by an in-person congregational meeting.

Friends, it is vital to our wellbeing that we find ways to stay connected with another.  For a thoughtful essay about this read Andy Crouch’s article “Love in the Time of Coronavirus”.  Talk about your ideas for connection with a friend, spouse, and neighbor. Share your thoughts online. Let us spur one another on to Christian love and action.

Finally, for up to date information about the Coronavirus in our area visit https://www.kingcounty.gov/depts/health. Or call the state of Washington Coronavirus Hotline at 1.800.525.0127

May the risen Lord Jesus who walks ahead of us into the storm, grant you peace in your troubles and courage this day, and every day.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Shari    shari@kjpcusa.org
