Dr. John Thompson, a Professor of Historical Theology at Fuller Seminary, will be visiting JKPC and giving a public lecture on Saturday, January 11 at 2pm. The title of his presentation is “What’s really worth fighting over?: John Calvin on the Essentials of the Christian Faith.” Dr. Thompson will guide us through the Christian beliefs that famous church reformer John Calvin thought it was okay to compromise on and those that Christians can’t compromise on. This event is free and open to the public. Childcare provided – RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org after January 1.
On the evening of Saturday, January 11th we’ll be hosting a special gathering with Rev. Dr. John Thompson beginning at 6pm with appetizers. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm, with a presentation from Dr. Thompson on “Conscience” and the Presbyterian tradition. A time of Q&A is sure to be one of the highlights of the evening. Festivities will end at 8pm. Tickets are $25/person. Childcare and a kid friendly meal are provided at no extra cost.
