LOCAL CHRISTMAS MISSION PROJECT
HELP SUPPLY GIFTS FOR THE RESIDENTS OF MARY’S PLACE IN BURIEN
JKPC is partnering with Mary’s Place to provide gifts for children and adults during this holiday season by sponsoring a Giving Tree. Please check out the tree in the Atrium and select a gift or two (or even more) that your family can bless others with. Unwrapped gifts along with the gift request tags must be returned by December 12th to the Atrium. If a gift card is the requested item, it should be returned to the Welcome Center or to the church office. These gifts will be distributed at the Holly Jolly Party for Mary’s Place participants December 20th and 21st. Please find out more by visiting the display table next to the tree in the Atrium.

Childcare will be available for children ages Nursery through Preschool. This year’s special Thanksgiving offering will be shared equally by Hospitality House and The Outreach Foundation’s Syria Relief Fund. Please use your special Thanksgiving offering envelope or write “Thanksgiving Offering” on the memo line of your check or pew envelope. Donations can also be made online at www.jkpcusa.org or through Realm.

CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER
EVERY SUNDAY DURING ADVENT AND DECEMBER 29
Last year, during “The Longest Night,” the chapel became a prayer sanctuary to pray, reflect, and listen to God. This year, during Advent, the chapel will again become a special place for prayer and reflection. All are invited before or after each service to pray (alone or with a deacon), to listen to contemplative music, and to bring our hearts before God. During this season, the Pastoral Nominating Committee asks that the congregation join with them in prayer for discernment as the candidate search narrows.

CHRISTMAS IN COMMUNITY
JOIN JOHN KNOX COMMUNITY PRESCHOOL AND CELEBRATE
On Saturday December 7, our Preschool will present the Nativity story as only three and four olds can. Two performances at 2:30pm and 4pm with a reception event in the Fellowship Hall following each performance. Our purpose is to share the joy of Christmas while raising funds for the tuition assistance program and support of our Preschool. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to come meet our preschool families, staff and ministry team. To make this event welcoming we are asking for donations of bite-sized dessert items for the receptions, and for a volunteer or two to assist the kitchen manager with set up and during the receptions. Dessert items can either be purchased, or preferably, homemade. If you are available for either please contact Kristine Jung at kristine@jkpcusa.org or Melody Fuchigami at melody@jkpcusa.org. If you can support the Preschool and the Tuition Assistance program, please direct your donation to the Preschool. Thank you!
