Here’s an advanced look at what’s in the 5 things for this coming Sunday.
A BABY CHANGES EVERYTHING!
CONGRATULATIONS PASTOR JON & EMILY
On Tuesday, October 8 at 3:27pm a healthy Jonathan Donald (JD) Saur (6 lbs. 1 oz., 19 in.) was welcomed into the world. We praise God that JD, Mom and Dad are all doing well. Since JD arrived earlier than expected, the Blessing Shower planned for today after 2nd service is being postponed to a later date but we are still in the process of putting together a booklet for Pastor Jon and Emily. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up a notecard from the Welcome Center and submit your advice, prayer, Scripture passage or Dad joke to the Welcome Center or to Teresa Dunn so it can be included in the booklet.

HIGHLINE FOOD BANK FOOD DRIVE
COLLECTING ALL SUNDAYS IN OCTOBER
Please join us in helping others by bringing healthy, non-perishable food items for donation. Pick up a grocery bag in the Narthex or use one of your own and return it to the Narthex by Sunday, October 27th. Together, we CAN make a difference and bring hope to our neighbors in need!
MARY’S PLACE BURIEN FAMILY SHELTER
JK KIDS CHRISTMAS MISSION INITIATIVE
This Year, JK Kids will be donating items to Mary’s Place Burien Family Shelter for their Christmas mission emphasis. We recently heard that the shelter is in urgent need of specific items right now due to the unusually high number of infants & children the shelter is housing. Recognizing this need, we will be collecting items at the Children’s Ministry table in the Atrium starting this Sunday. Items needed are: Diapers sizes 4, 5, 6; toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, body wash, socks (all sizes) and lotions. Thank you for your generosity in responding to this immediate need. We will share more about our Christmas wish list for the shelter as it gets closer to December.
TRUNK OR TREAT IS COMING
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED | SIGN UP TODAY
Every October 31, we welcome several hundred children from our neighborhood to our church parking lot for our Trunk or Treat event. We pass out candy, prizes and treats in an environment that is safe and fun. We can use your help in several ways:
Prayer: Pray for this event to be a place where Jesus’ love is felt through our Mission of reaching out.
Volunteer: Trunk or Treat takes about 2 hours of your time and is a really easy event to help at. If you would like to decorate your car (which is not a requirement), ideas are easily found online. We also have a variety of other needs for the night to help make this event a success. Sign-ups are in the Atrium.
Donate: Candy, prizes and treats (in stores now with sales and special offers). Please pick up a few bags for the collection bins which are in the church Atrium.
