Millions of Americans gather in churches for worship every week. We sing, pray, confess our sins, give money, listen to a sermon, eat bread, and drink wine together. But why do we do those things as the church? What exactly is it we're called to do when we meet as God's people? Join us as we consider the particular calling, definition and relevance of the church.

This conference is designed for everyone involved in churches today--clergy and laypeople, seminary professors and students, and church leaders. In this three day conference we will: Provide biblical and practical teaching on why and how the church still matters, Challenge you and your church / ministry to view worship as work, witness and warfare, Equip your language and your mission as the body of Christ to be informed and shaped by the practices of the church.

This year's conference features

·       Rev. Dr. Jonathan Wilson, Professor of Theology at Carey Theological College and Author of several published works including, "God So Loved the World: A Christology for Disciples" and "Why Church Matters: Worship, Ministry and Mission in Practice". Jonathan’s teaching invites followers of Jesus Christ to connect how we live with what we believe.

We are also pleased to have the following guest at this year’s conference:

·       Rev. Dr. Bryan Burton, Adjunct Professor of Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary, Northwest Campus in Seattle and Visiting Lecturer of Theology at Regent College. He also taught at Drew University, Princeton Seminary and Mars Hill Graduate School. Bryan has been featured on the BBC in Great Britain, The Dick Staub Show The Kindlings Muse and KGNW radio. He has served as a pastor in Southern California, Minnesota, Northern Ireland, New Jersey and for the last 10 years has served as Senior Pastor and Head of Staff at John Knox Presbyterian Church.

·       Michael Card, celebrated recording artist and author. He will be in concert with three worship leaders from Seattle: Kurt Dyrhsen (Bethany Presbyterian), Molly McCue (1st Presbyterian of Bellevue) and Brian Moss (John Knox Presbyterian Church). This concert features music from a new recording and is the culmination of the By/For project.
