The Spiritual Formation of Adults
The goal of Adult Ministries at John Knox is to grow us into the image of Jesus Christ.
This involves the transformation of our hearts and minds which results in lives devoted
to the worship of God, identification with the community of God’s people, learning the way of discipleship, service to the body of Christ and commitment to the mission of Christ in the world. Opportunities for Spiritual Formation with the John Knox community are described below. SUNDAY MORNINGS Preaching and Teaching

Sunday Adult Class
“Luke, whose first volume we know as the gospel which bears his name, is telling us with his opening sentence one of the most important things about the whole book.  It is all about what Jesus is continuing to do and teach … We call it ‘The Acts of the Apostles’, but in truth we should really think of it as ‘The Acts of Jesus (Part II)’.” N.T. Wright, Acts for Everyone.

You’re invited to join us on this journey of discovery and discipleship.

Sundays at 7:50 AM.

· Location: Multipurpose Room

OTHER SEASONAL OFFERINGS

Annual Spring Conference– Annually on the first weekend of March, the church at John Knox gathers to hear from world-quality speakers to develop us further in our journey with Christ and to point us to the world in mission.

ADULT GROUPS AND RESOURCES

Life Groups: What are Life Groups? They are complementary to our times of corporate worship and service together. They are a place to help people connect relationally to the community of faith; where they can grow toward full devotion to Christ and where they can reach out to others with His love.

In a large church like John Knox, Life Groups help us to get smaller as we grow bigger, to foster intimacy, maturity, and accountability as followers of Christ. Life Groups are the place where one can be grounded in truth while staying real with life; where what we believe is aligned with what we practice. They involve study, prayer, relationship, and service.  Groups meet in homes, coffee houses, or even here at JKPC. Gatherings take place anywhere from weekly to bi-weekly to once a month and normally last an hour and a half to two hours.  There are groups for women, men and couples. For more information about all the Life Groups and Adult Formations contact Gregg Baklund.

Women’s Life Groups

Learn the Language of Jesus

Beginning the week of April 26,  Ruth Bayley will be leading John Knox Women’s Life Groups in a five week study to “Learn the Language of Jesus”.  Using the book “Jesus the Counselor” authored by Ruth, as well as the gospels, we will study how Jesus responded to people and how he touched their hearts.  Our weekly time will include teaching by Ruth followed by small group discussion & prayer time. Books are available at the Welcome Center for $10.

All women are invited to attend, whether or not you have previously participated in Women’s Life Groups.  If you are not currently in a group please complete the registration form available at the Welcome Center.
